WHY DO LIZARDS GROW TAILS AGAIN IF THEY LOSE THEIR TAILS?

We all know that kind of ability that lizards have to regenerate their tail if they lose it. Nature is, of course, surprising and we cannot imagine how animals possess such sophisticated mechanisms. Well, today in Disfi we are going to discover the reason why lizards may have tails again but not, for example, a leg. If you’re nature lovers, this is for you. Let’s get started!

We can’t imagine how important the tail is to lizards. They use it for different functions such as locomotion, courtship to other specimens of their species and the storage of fats to cope with times when there is a lack of food. This partial “resurrection” is due to the fact that it is important for the animal to have it in its daily locomotion, for nuptial courtships and, most importantly, as a place to store fats for bad times of hunger or disease.
