Ahidi Sinene: Leading the Charge for Environmental Stewardship in Tanzania's Mara Region
The Environment Ambassador in Tanzania who is also the Mara Regional Academic Officer Ahidi Sinene said that the government provided information to ensure that each Council plants 1.5 million trees using their budgets, where he said each Council has implemented to its level.
He added that, “as the Environment Ambassador I planned for each Council in Mara Region to plant 5,000 trees, where in total we managed to plant 45,000 trees for all Councils, and 10,000 trees, died for various reasons and 35,000 trees recovered. For the Musoma Municipal Council and the Musoma District Council, a total of 25,000 trees have recovered. I urge the community to fully participate in cleaning the environment, removing plastic waste from all areas and abandoning activities that have an impact on the environment and living organisms.” said Sinene.
